I just logged onto Twitter and saw this article posted from his Twitter account. Evidently, in order to promote Survival of the Dead, Romero and friends rounded up four hundred corpses to storm downtown New York.
Honestly, this sounds like an awesome zombie walk. Probably the best one ever. From the article:

How cool is that? To end a zombie walk with a hand shake from one of the big heavies of the genre? Sounds like it was a blast. Check out the photos. Just a question … what is the Hulk doing there? :)

This year, Red, White, and Dead returns for another attempt at world history on Saturday, July 3rd at the Fremont Outdoor Movies.

So, if thousands of Zombie weren’t enough once a year, I have decided to bring together the entire Zombie community in one place for the ultimate Zombie fan experience. Thus year it kicks off in Seattle and then next year in San Francisco in 2011.

It’s called ZomBcon and it’s taking place on Halloween Weekend in Seattle. We have a lot planned and I wanted to simply introduce myself and send you over our media kit to give you a bit more about our event, seeing we are in the business of Zombies.

2010 is the year of the Zombie! This fall the world’s first Zombie Fan Culture Convention infects Seattle October 29th – 31st.

ZomBcon is being held at premier locations throughout Seattle including The Seattle Center, Seattle International Film Festival and the Experience Music Project Museum over Halloween weekend.

ZomBcon, the world’s first-ever, dedicated zombie event, mashes the hysteria of an obsessive extreme fan culture together with a leading-edge entertainment industry 360-degree experience. Fans of all ages will find a unique, one-of-a kind events, workshops and presentations celebrating one of the world’s most electrifying movie icons; the Zombie.

ZomBcon 2010 plays host to more than 60 specialty exhibitors. We’ve created on-trend interactive fan workshops, and gaming experiences, a SIFF-curated Zombie Film series, unique panels and discussions, and the premiere Halloween party ticket this year; The Zombie Prom.

Sure, the news might be old, but the images themselves are great such as the giant brain held aloft on fold out chairs. One has to wonder the size of the head from which it was excavated.
On a side note, Halloween might appear to be a distant spec on the horizon, but it is coming fast indeed. This year, we must do our best to have Pittsburgh reclaim the zombie capital of the world from Seattle. If any one is associated with the annual Halloween zombie walk over at Monroeville, give me a holler so I can help drum up some troops.

A group dressing as zombies to protest the lack of an R18+ video game classification in Australia will return to Sydney later this month.

The hoard, which last protested over the satte of games classification late last year, has the support of online video game activists and the Sydney Flash Mob which is rallying support through Facebook.

Zombies are set to gather in Sydney for a photoshoot tomorrow, ahead of the planned protest march beginning at Hyde Park Fountain on March 27.

Around 200 people took part in the first zombie protest march in Sydney last November.

Believe it or not, this gets better. To kick off the exhibit, the gallery is sponsoring a zombie walk which will end in the gallery itself.
