What Would You Do? – Day Eight: Shopping Spree

It’s been awhile since we’ve last seen this segment, but like our undead friends, it won’t stay down no matter how many bullets you shoot into it (headshots excluded). In our last episode, you raced into a pharmacy whose employees were somewhat aloof with the coming apocalypse. With zombies on your footsteps, that apathy was sure to change, here’s what a few people decided to do. … Read entire article »

What Would You Do? – Day Seven: The Siege

Things are getting interesting with our little anecdote about the end of society. I’ve been enjoying the various different responses as I have appreciated how people have approached this little imaginative exercise with their real abilities in mind. The difference between a Hollywood zombie killer and a real one is the actual act in killing. Sure, the zombie is already dead, but the person before the pulled trigger could turn out very different from the person after the pulled trigger. Granted, in time, we all adapt. The real question is … could you look at yourself in the mirror after the fact? I remember a long time ago watching Lord of the Rings. I remember seeing Aaragorn dicing orcs left and right, chopping off arms … Read entire article »

What Would You Do? – Day Six: Escape

It’s been some time since we last visited our makeshift zombie apocalypse. Truthfully, I would have crafted more in the past week but a nasty cold (yes, another one) pretty much sucked all my creative juices out of me. But let us not think of snot rags and hacking coughs and return to our imaginary world where the dead has started to make an appearance. I loved Anna’s response to the question. She was straight to the point. … Read entire article »

What Would You Do? – Day Five: Are Those Dead People?

Wow. I must say I’m impressed by the depth of discussion that these questions have been creating. RyanWalk gave a great response for his preparations, making me wonder if he might have survived a few other zombie apocalypses. The big question … is bunkering down in your house a wise strategy to pursue in any apocalypse? Would it be safer to find fortifiable position in a rural area? In any case, here is what Ryan had to say: … Read entire article »

What Would You Do? – Day Four: Out of the Frying Pan …

This is turning into a rather fun exercise. I must say, I’m enjoying the wide variety of answers, but the trophy must go to Nicole for her rather thoughtful albeit scary response to the question. Why scary? She mentioned watching her children while taking care of her husband. Outside of the excellent short film Chemical 12D, there hasn’t been a whole lot of thought about kids during a zombie apocalypse. Here’s what she had to say: … Read entire article »

What Would You Do? – Day Three: Things Get Worse

I was surprised to read more people than I imagined would still go to work while an infection spread, but putting myself in the same situation, I’d probably be at work myself unless my daughter was too sick for daycare. I write this having undergone the sickest year of my existence so maybe my thoughts would be a little different a year from now or a year ago. But the interesting thing … even at the end of days, I’d still be concerned about my sick time off work. Of course, one doesn’t know it’s the end of days otherwise things would play out much different. … Read entire article »

What Would You Do? – Day Two: The Plague Spreads

There were some interesting answers to the last question. For those who forgot – the question of the hour was determine what you would do if you were going to a bar with your best friend and he or she showed signs of an infectious flu (possibly fatal) going around. Mind you, you have no idea that is flu has anything to do with zombies. Dan decided to go with the subtle route in his post: ask him to make a pitstop at the nearest fast food joint saying I need to get some food in my stomach before we start to get hammered. From there I’m doing something pretty similar to strife from there on out, I’m texting my sister to get me the Fuck outta there! … Read entire article »
