J. P. Moore’s Toothless Finds a Publisher

Toothless by J. P. MooreSome awesome news hit the twittersphere today. Zombie author J.P. Moore just landed a publishing deal with Dragon Moon Press for his book Toothless. Toothless is unique insomuch that after it was completed, he produced a podcast version of it for free download. Evidently, someone from Dragon Moon Press discovered the book and next thing you know, the deal was done.

I gotta say as a writer and soon to be podcaster, I find this hugely inspirational. It’s great to see that the internet provides a ladder over the walled garden of the publishing industry. Ten years ago, most publishers wouldn’t look at your work without an agent. These days, with the distance between an author and his or her audience being only a mouse click away, it’s nice to see the publisher/writer relationship adapting to the role of technology.

Toothless by JP Moore

ToothlessAlmost six years ago, I decided that I had my fill of Los Angeles, and drove back to my New England home over three thousand miles away. Except I didn’t take the direct path. I ended up driving to Alaska, down to Texas, up to the Dakotas, and finally due east. That three thousand mile journey ending up being twenty thousand miles. Before I left on my journey, I decided to collect a gazillion audiobooks and had I known there were zombie audiobooks, I would have been in seventh heaven.

Introducing Toothless by JP Moore. It is historical zombie fiction in the same vein as De Bello Lemures, or the Roman War Against the Zombies of Armorica by Thomas Brookside. Here’s the description of the book:
