New Survival of the Dead Trailer
A new trailer for Romero’s Survival of the Dead has appeared online. It’s incomplete, missing both credits as well as featuring some timecode on the bottom of it, but it looks pretty solid. When George Romero was asked his favorite zombie death, he mentioned the one involving a fire extinguisher. In this clip, you can see in its full glory. Looks to be wild ride with plenty of murder and mayhem to keep us entertained. New Romero trailer: inventive zombie deaths aplenty (indiemoviesonline.com … Read entire article »

Botched Survival of the Dead Screening Gives Audience Real Taste of Post Apocalyptic Dischord
In what can be categorized as pooch screwing on steroids, the Brenden Theatres managed to botch up the screening of George Romero’s Surival of Dead, pissing of a throng of angry zombies while also embarassing zombie legend George Romero. Here’s the scoop from Stephanie … Went to this and waited an hour before Brendan theater employees canceled it. It boiled down to them not having anyone competent enough to transfer the film to another projector or change the faulty lightbulb. So yeah, The Palms is a joke. Hopefully they manage to play it tomorrow as promised. Absolutely no compensation was offered to the hundred or so people left waiting. Wow … I think I would have eaten some brains after that. In any case, if you live in Vegas and want … Read entire article »

Hollywood Reporter Reviews “Survival of the Dead”
Looks like the Hollywood Reporter managed to get a glimpse of Romero’s latest epic, and the news looks to be great. The bottom line (according to the article): “George A. Romero’s entertaining new zombie feature shows that you can’t keep a good man down.” It continues to state, “True to the form with savvy cultural points, clever wit and a nice twist on what might happen to the newly deceased, “Dead” should make a tidy boxoffice killing.” The article then gives a plot synopsis without managing to ruin any plot points or surprises. There’s a couple things that I liked in the article. The island actually gets a name and a place associated with it instead of it just being some random island, housing people … Read entire article »

Survival of the Dead Preview
I just checked out Romero’s Twitter feed today, and I saw that he updated it with a link to his upcoming film, “Survival of the Dead”. It’s your basic promotional film whereby all the actors gush about Romero, speckled with behind the scenes footage. There’s not a lot to ascertain in the film and surprisingly, Romero doesn’t speak during this little tidbit. Rather, the film closes with Romero walking by the camera giving a strange “what the hell are you wearing” kind of look. The one thing I’m liking about this movie is that all the actors look like normal people as opposed to Hollywood models. Other than that, there’s not a lot being reveal except that the movie has zombies in it along with … Read entire article »

Survival of the Dead
After some time, it looks like George Romero’s latest opus has acquired a name. Whereas a few months prior, the film was simply known as “… of the Dead”. It is now officially “Survival of the Dead”. Personally, I was hoping for “Island of the Dead” or something along those lines. In either case, it sounds like the film is wrapping up nicely. The following link also has a few stills of the production which depict the usual zombie munch man action. Also according to the article, “Survival of the Dead” will be debuting at the Toronto film festival next month. I haven’t heard if the film has a distributor yet, but you can be certain that this movie will be on DVD … Read entire article »
