He’s Undead, Jim

Here’s a little something that’s making its way through the Twitter-sphere. It’s a Star Trek t-shirt with a red shirted zombie looking brains. Underneath is the simple headline, “He’s Undead, Jim”. The writeup itself is pretty funny: There are a lot of ways to die if you’re a red shirt. You can be shot by a poisonous plant, step on an exploding rock, be struck by lightning, get whacked by a native with a big stick, choke on a dikironium cloud, or, our personal favorite, be beamed down to a planet that’s not actually there and get sucked into space, never to be seen again. But it’s an entirely different matter when Bones says, “He’s undead, Jim.” That’s way worse than dead, and the entire galaxy could be … Read entire article »

Star Wars Zombie Movie Posters

Here’s a little something that was recently posted on io9. Imagine taking the Star Wars universe and infecting every single character in it with a zombie virus. This is the concept behind all these images. Each movie poster has been repurposed with zombies and man, do they look great. I love the A New Hope poster which has been subtly changed to “A New Epidemic”. The prequel posters look to be better than the movies themselves. It’d be pretty kick ass to see a zombie jedi, dragging his lightsaber behind him like Linus’ blanket. … Read entire article »

Star Wars Zombies

Think how much cooler the new Star Wars Prequels would have been if a young Anakin Skywalker smacked the waxing philosophic Qui-Gon Jin in the face, then took a bite out of his arm. Or how about the petulant man child Anakin being knocked on his back from a ravenous Padme who needs to feast on nothing but brains, brains, and more brains. The crew at totalfilm have put together a collage of Star Wars photos under the zombie microscope. There’s even some cos-play zombies thrown in the mix. All and all … a great collection. 23 Awesome Star Wars Zombies ( … Read entire article »

io9’s Top Ten Astro Zombies

I gotta say, I couldn’t stop myself from laughing while writing that title, but don’t get me wrong, this is a good read. Writer Charlie Jane Anders put together a short list of top science fiction related zombies for the sci-fi blog, io9. Some of them are deep in left field, but interesting nonetheless. One movie that I keep bumping into over and over again is Lifeforce. Is this flick worth the rental? Top 10 Greatest Space Zombies Of All Time! ( … Read entire article »

Death Troopers

I love zombies. I enjoy Star Wars. You’d think I’d be dancing on ceiling with Lionel Richie when I heard about the concept behind Death Troopers. Instead, just a giant meh. Death Troopers is a recently published book set in the Star Wars universe and brimming with zombies. Although from briefly scanning the Amazon reviews, it looks like no lightsabers make an appearance. From the blog entry: When the Imperial prison barge Purge — temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy’s most ruthless killers, rebels, scoundrels and thieves — breaks down in a distant, uninhabited part of space, its only hope seems to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting, derelict and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them … Read entire article »
