With today’s release of the vampire filled world of Daybreakers, there probably won’t be too many more of these type of articles. I found this one little piece to be pretty interesting. Half way down, the brothers discuss their approach to special effects, and they are the old school horror types. They prefer to put a guy in a suit opposed to creating an effect in a computer. Back in 2003, a little known zombie film was released titled Undead. I remember popping it into the DVD player, not expecting much and actually getting less. It had some cool moments and the production itself was pretty slick, but on the whole I didn’t like the mixing of aliens and zombies, not mention a backwoods farmer who could give Bruce Lee a beatdown. It wasn’t bad like The Stink of Flesh bad and the movie certainly had its moments. The movie just didn’t work for me. Five years later, we have a new film by the same people and it looks great.
