Zombie Nation

Visiting Zombie Nation, you are greeted by a splash page that states the old Romero adage, “When there is no room in hell, the zombie nation will rise.” And rise it does. Clicking on the forum link, you’ll be greeted by an active community twenty thousand members strong. Conversations about the dead range the spectrum from books, movies, and of course, old man George himself. The site is a cleaner zombie site then most. I find then when visiting a lot of zombie sites is that the site designer often times wishes to emulate the dark look and feel zombie movies. While this may make an initial good first impression, it can be somewhat burdensome if you spend any amount of time there. … Read entire article »

Too Many Zombies Going Strong

If you haven’t checked out this site yet, take a look. The website started off as an experiment for the site owner (I lost his name) this past June on an ipod touch. The idea was to create a zombie a day for an entire year. Since then, the site has been going strong posting seventy different zombies in their various states of demise. The pictures are pretty funny with descriptions on how each of them perished. For the attached image, the description reads, “Wanted to be buried in his best suit. Unfortunately, it was at the drycleaners and his wife lost the ticket. Well, at least she buried him. She had contemplated just putting him out with the rubbish. ” Great stuff. Too … Read entire article »

Zombie Survival & Defense Wiki Reborn

If you type “zombie blogs” into google, the first site to pop-up on the listings is a site called “Zombie Survival & Defense Wiki”. Some time I ago, I wrote a small review of this site, noting that the actual organization of the site inhabited the actual use of it. Almost a month later, James wrote back on the review. He told me that he was busy reorganizing the entire site and listed his email address for questions. Well, a few months later, how did James’ work turn out? Quite well, I must say. My primary complaint was there was too much stuff spread out. This has been addressed and although the site directory is a little busy, I have no problems finding what I need to … Read entire article »

Zombiefest 2009

Many thanks to zombie hunter Ben for digging out a new cache of fresh corpses. It looks like its a good time of the year to visit Crackle.com because the site is doing a zombie celebration of sorts. For the next couple of weeks, the site will be hosting a ton of zombie such as Night of the Living Dead (you can always view it here), a new zombie web series starring none other than the dude who played Napoleon Dynamite, and other bunch of other zombie related stuff. The series kicks off with a well written intro. From the article: On the surface level zombie films are exactly the same as all horror films: you’re being chased by something that wants to kill you, and that’s, … Read entire article »

Nihilistic Software Zombie Blog

Last night, I was playing Conan on my xbox, and in one cutscene, Conan takes this guy’s head and slams it on an axe blade, over and over again. I was sold on the game … hook, line, and sinker. I decided to look up the developer, and discovered it was Nihilistic Software;the creator of the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse game. And man oh man — do they have a really cool blog to promote this game. Whether you like video games or not, you should check out this blog. In it, the game creators are writing a fictional account of their office being swarmed with zombies. Granted, there’s a bunch of other articles detailing their upcoming game, but you can skip over them. The photos … Read entire article »

Channel Your Inner Zombie

Wondering how you might look after you died, but your body lived on to devour everything within immediate sight? Well, if so, I found a site that is right up your alley. Basically, this is a promotional website for the “Zombieland”, but it’s pretty well done. You upload a photo of yourself (or maybe an ex-lover), and spend the next twenty minutes adding eye socket holes, frayed skin, and even a saw blade to the forehead. It’s a fun site, worth checking out. Just note that I did have some problems using the site on Firefox using a Mac. Zombify Yourself (zombify-yourself.net … Read entire article »

Zombie and Toys Giveway: Zombies for Zombies

Heading over to Zombie and Toys (great website, by the way), I saw that there is a current promotion for a free aptly titled, “Zombies for Zombies”. According to Jason - Zombies For Zombies is a motivational guide designed specifically to make a profound difference in your accidental, strange new life. You say you don’t want to become another one of those ghastly creatures you see on the news out in the Tempe Containment Zone? You don’t have to—if you follow some of the book’s great advice, including: * How to dress for your new lifestyle * Handy recipes for brains * Fitness ideas for keeping you somewhat energetic * New skin-care techniques to help ward off “rotting flesh syndrome” * How to overcome that darned zombie social stigma * Dance steps for the motor-impaired On an … Read entire article »

All Things Zombie

If you’ve ever visited any zombie sites like this one, you’ll probably see a link prominently placed on a site, linking to All Things Zombie. Following this link without knowing about the site, you’d be greeted with a splash page informing you about the upcoming May 2008 DVD release of “Diaries of the Dead”. As you search through the site, you’ll bump into a ton of broken links, game listings over five years old, and articles that are no longer relevant. It’d make you wonder why everyone links to a site, that by all looks, is just as dead as its reported content. If you got lucky like me, you might have clicked on the message board link, and there, within the heart of a smoldering web site, … Read entire article »

Zombie Hub contains a ton of information about zombies in terms of fiction, non-fiction, games, media events, and whatever else can be included with the kitchen sink. I’m not sure if the site is actively updated although there is a zombie calender for the current month. There’s also a ton of links leading to other zombie sites. Too Many Zombies!

Has the day got you down and instead of doing any work, you find yourself staring at the window with thoughts of the undead eating everyone you know? Yeah. I have those thoughts as well. Thankfully, there is a new blog out there to help zombie-workday blues. It’s called “Too Many Zombies!”. It started with doodles preformed on an iphone touch and it has resulted in a zombie-a-day artwork for the next year. Granted, it’s not your typical zombie artwork. They look like cute little toys that you might win at some fair. Still, it is a cute little site. If you are in the need of an undead pick-me-up, give it a lookover Too Many Zombies! Want to become a Zombie???

Feeling the need to know how you will look with the undead actually rise and bite into you like a sponge cake? Well, I recently bumped into this site that specialized in zombie photos. All you do is email the artist a picture you would like zombie-fied and in a few weeks, you get a hand illustrated 9″x11 portrait of yourself completely dead. The artists has a bunch of prints on site and some of them are pretty creepy. The best photos are those who actually posed like a zombie or managed to exaggerate their expression in some twisted manner. This artist also sell zombie greeting cards and even zombie-fied movie posters. This looks like a really cool site, and some time when I … Read entire article »

Zombie Survival Wiki Victim of Its Own Success

At this point in internet history, I’m willing to bet that most people are aware of Wikipedia. They may not understand it, but I’m sure they know if its existence. The Zombie Survival & Defense Wiki (ZSDW) takes the concept of “everyone is the editor” and applies it to zombies. It’s really a great idea. The zombie genre encompasses a lot of facets with most of it being fictional, so the good thing about this concept is that there are no experts since the subject matter is entirely fictional. The ZSDW has really flourished in the past three, sporting over three thousands members. There are hundreds of pages on the site. All having to do with zombies, suriival, and defense. This site is a … Read entire article »

They’re Coming (to get you, Barbara)

You got to love a website that names itself off of the iconic line from Night of the Living Dead. This is one site that you should check out. It’s really cool. The site is a collection of movie reviews of all horror moves. How is this different than any other review site? I mean, you can’t click five links before stumbling into one. Why does the internet need another one? Well, the reviews are not only well written, but they also act as blog entries. In some cases, the review tells me more about the sister than it does about the movie, I find that really cool. The sisters go by the name Barbara Jo and Barbara May. One of … Read entire article »
