The Trailer for Every Oscar Ever Made

There are bloody curdling zombies. There are zombies that will pin you to the wall with fear. There are zombies that will make laugh to your bones. Alas, I do not believe that I have ever seen a zombie so horrific to equal the sight of Ben Stiller dressed as a Na’vi alien from Avatar. I don’t know why it bothers me so much to see all the different pictures of him, but the sooner it fades into the fog of lost memories, the happier I will be. … Read entire article »

Hollywood Zombies

John over at LT Prints just shot me an email, letting me know of their latest product line, Hollywood Zombies. This site is kind of a throwback to the eighties when the Garbage Pail Kids were all the rage. The big difference between the former and the latter is that Hollywood Zombies features undead celebrities in various states of decay. For example, there’s a print of “ARNOLD CORPSENEGGER” doing his best to lift some weights while his arms quite literally fall apart. Then there’s the famous power couple, “BRADGELINA” which is two zombie heads sewn onto the same body. Of course, they are carrying a dead baby. Here’s some more information for the interested: … Read entire article »

Zombies Granted Free Speech Rights

I seem to start a lot of posts with the following scenario, but imagine if you will that the world is in flames and the dead walk the earth. Now imagine, if you pulled a gun on one of the zombies only to find yourself arrested, and thrown into a post apocalyptic jail because you threatened a zombie’s free speech rights. No — this isn’t just some random story, but the law in action. … Read entire article »

Yahoo Answers Takes on the Zombie Apocalypse

I’ve never quite understood the subtleties and mysteries of Yahoo answers. I guess it’s something about answering questions for points which, er, raises you in level so you can become the uber answerer thus earning you first in line at the local car wash. Or something. Well, someone asked a pretty interesting question. Is zombie meat really edible in the upcoming zombie apocalypse. If it is, well, that solves a lot of problems with the whole gathering of food problem. Granted, your local zombie won’t taste like a fine T-Bone steak, but it would fill your belly. … Read entire article »

A Zombie Survival Kit That You Can Dance To

Imagine the scenario … the world is in flames. Friends, neighbors, loved ones have succumbed to the ongoing zombie apocalypse, forcing you to kill them for your own survival. Life is a daily grind of running from one safe house to another, doing your best to barricade yourself from the horde only to have the walking dead overcome your defenses each and every time. … Read entire article »

Has the Zombie Apocalypse Already Started?

I just saw this on Digg tonight and it gave me a little chuckle. Truth be told, if the dead did start rising from their graves and eating plain old regular folk, you can put down hard cash on the fact that the government will do anything in its power to coverup the affair, lest panic sweep ahold of the nation. But sometimes, the government can’t help but be the government and all their sneaking around will do little difference when agents drive vans as the one depicted in this picture. … Read entire article »

29 Billion Zombies Killed and Counting

Star Trek’s bald headed chick magnet Captain Jean Luc Piccard observed that all life forms have a right to exist no matter how strange the behavior or aggressive the creature towards our species. Of course, Piccard hadn’t encountered the flesh eating undead who would delightfully tear him apart limb from limb, but if he had, I’m guessing the number of dead zombies would be higher. As it stands, we should still be proud of our collective 29 billion zombies killed in a span of three months with the release of Left 4 Dead 2. Tom’s Guide has reported the figures from Valve and in doing so, tried to break it down in understandable figures. Like, have you thought how high a stack of 29 billion zombies would reach … Read entire article »

Jim Henson’s Zombie Babies

What happens when your baby gets bitten by a zombie? It becomes a baby zombie. And what happens when you have a baby zombie? You have a lot more other baby zombies. On an aside, while writing my book, I got to think about what would happen to newly delivered babies in a hospital once a zombie apocalypse occurred. I reasoned the outlook wouldn’t be so good, and promptly thought of something else. Babies and zombies go together like kittens and crocodiles. They’re just not good for each other. Baby Zombie (25.media.tumblr.com … Read entire article »

Zombie Wedding Cake

This is an oldie but goodie that made the rounds through the intertubes last year. As you know, what is old is new again (unless we’re talking about my car). I posted this cake sometime back but seeing as how I’m in a lazy mood today, I’m pillaging the archives. The cake itself pretty awesome. Who needs a dancing bride and groom when there are chainsaws to be passed out. The spatters of blood along the sides of the cake really make this puppy sparkle. Check it out and despair. Behind the Scenes Footage of Night of the Living Dead

Many thanks to the Unofficial Romero for sending me over this youtube link. It’s kind of funny, depicting behind the scenes footage of Romero directing actors on how to act like zombies. The problem being, people didn’t really know about zombies at the time. The would be zombies are pretty funny with one of them grabbing his forehead in frustration while bemoaning that “he didn’t want to get into porn again”. There’s another guy who wants to be badass zombie while a growingly frustrated Romero he tries to express his vision. … Read entire article »

Evil Dead … The Musical

Oh. My. god. First off, a great shout out to Jason for sending this over. I never thought I’d see a day when the great Sam Raimi movies would be put to music in what looks to be a hilarious creative romp. Chainsaws and shotguns included. This is Evil Dead … The Musical. From the site: For those who don’t know, this hilarious live stage show takes all the elements of the cult classic horror films, Evil Dead 1, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness then combines them to make one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time. … Read entire article »

Babes of the Apocalypse

The apocalypse is a pretty nasty time to spend your weekends. If the apocalypse resulted from a nuclear exchange, you’d be spending your nights combing ash out of your glowing radiated hair while coughing up blood. If the apocalypse were of a zombie nature, you’d probably avoid the shower at all costs lest a corpse walk in on you. Still, in all cases of “the end is very f’n nigh”, there would still be some good looking folks wandering through the ashes of society. Dirty or not. … Read entire article »

Are Your Loved Ones Planning to Eat You?

The Oatmeal is a pretty random but funny website that always seems to catch me by surprise. I stumbled into this funny article which helps you to determine if your loved ones are zombies in training, and thus planning to eat you (yes, they are). While the article itself was pretty good, it was the source code that got me laughing. Before I link up each article, I make sure to write the full article name. I’m too lazy to type, so I often view the source of a webpage, then copy the title of the article from the title tags. I’ve done this to hundreds upon hundreds of websites and this is the first site that stopped me cold. Instead of seeing normal HTML, I … Read entire article »

Zombie Vision

There has been a few movies that have tried to take a stab at a zombie’s point of view. Some movies present a zombie POV as a shaky cam that simply rushes at the unsuspecting victim. Others show a gritty off colored perspective accompanied by full on heavy breathing. None of them fit the bill. This photo collage is probably the “realest” attempt at creating a zombie’s perspective. The great thing about these photos is that they have nothing to do with zombies, and everything to do with bacon. That’s right. The fifth food group. … Read entire article »

Gingerbread House From Hell

I gotta say, The Rue Morgue Magazine has a really fun staff blog. I’ve recently highlighted the blog regarding their exclusive pictures of the latest Body World exhibit and the fleshless dude holding a heart still gives me the willies. In this older entry, they’ve highlighted a wonderful gingerbread house that appears to be under siege by zombies. When there is no room in hell, the zombies will come back and eat your house (along with your brains). This exhibit is wildly creative. In the threshold of an open church, a priest holds a torch to keep the dead at bay while another survivor readies his chainsaw. And far off in the corner in a humble cemetery, the dead continue to rise from their … Read entire article »
