Red Dead Zombies

Cowboy ZombiesThe other night I was playing a late night game of Fallout 3 when my friend, Jeff popped online and asked me if I had been playing Red Dead Redemption. I shook my head, noting that Grand Theft Auto 4 left a bad taste in my mouth and when I heard the game described as “Grand Theft Auto” on a horse, I had no interest whatsoever. To which he responded, “… but it’s gonna have zombies in it.”

I’m such a sucker. Take a game that I don’t like and throw zombies in it, and I’ll be singing it’s praises. I found myself very interested in this game. Needless to say, I didn’t rush down to the store to pick myself up a copy, but rather I did a little online research to see what I could find. Here’s the skinny:

Undead Nightmare Pack (“Fall” 2010; $10)

- Ghost towns and cemeteries come alive in a West gone horribly wrong
- Brand new single-player adventure, challenges and quests
- 8 new multiplayer zombie characters
- Additional animals unleashed in the world
- New dynamic events and more

While it doesn’t want to make me drop sixty bucks on the game, it does capture my interest so to speak. Needless to say, I’m keep my ear to the ground. Hopefully, I’ll hear something good. That said, if you currently own the game — lock and load, friend. There’s going to be zombies in your neighborhood, partner.

  1. Mail Order Zombie’s news guy brought this bit of news to my attention last week, and I AM STOKED!

I’m not normally a GTA player, either, but Red Dead Redemption sunk its hooks into my, and I’m a HUGE fan of the game. Both the story mode and the multiplayer are a lot of fun, and adding zombies to the mix?

    Well, EVERYTHING’S better with zombies!

(By the way, if you do pick up the game, and you’re playing on the XBOX 360, let me know – I’d be happy to “posse up” with you and ride the trails . . . !)

  2. When my best friend Troy bought Red Dead Redemption before I did, I was ticked off because I had to listen to him rave about what a sweet game it was. Whenever I went to Twitter he was rubbing my face in it.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. And as much as I hate admitting that the spaz is right, I have to say he was dead on about Red Dead Redemption. Great job Rock Star Games! This is one of the best Xbox games.
