ZomBCon and Other Dead Happenings in Seattle

ZombConRyan over at ZomBCon wanted me to get out the word that this Halloween, there’s going to be a rather large zombie convention where you can find plenty of brains ripe for eating. These are the folks who organized the world’s largest zombie walk, thereby taking the crown from Pittsburgh. Grrr. Still, it sounds like a great time for the whole flesh eating family.

There’s actually a whole ton of other stuff, so I pasted his press release verbatim. Here is what Ryan has to say:

My name is Ryan Reiter, Creative Producer for the Fremont Outdoor Movies in Seattle. We created the cult hit Zombie Movie event last summer called Red, White and Dead last July 3rd and brought a Guinness World Record and was a huge success.

This year, Red, White, and Dead returns for another attempt at world history on Saturday, July 3rd at the Fremont Outdoor Movies.

So, if thousands of Zombie weren’t enough once a year, I have decided to bring together the entire Zombie community in one place for the ultimate Zombie fan experience. Thus year it kicks off in Seattle and then next year in San Francisco in 2011.

It’s called ZomBcon and it’s taking place on Halloween Weekend in Seattle. We have a lot planned and I wanted to simply introduce myself and send you over our media kit to give you a bit more about our event, seeing we are in the business of Zombies.

2010 is the year of the Zombie! This fall the world’s first Zombie Fan Culture Convention infects Seattle October 29th – 31st.

ZomBcon is being held at premier locations throughout Seattle including The Seattle Center, Seattle International Film Festival and the Experience Music Project Museum over Halloween weekend.

ZomBcon, the world’s first-ever, dedicated zombie event, mashes the hysteria of an obsessive extreme fan culture together with a leading-edge entertainment industry 360-degree experience. Fans of all ages will find a unique, one-of-a kind events, workshops and presentations celebrating one of the world’s most electrifying movie icons; the Zombie.

ZomBcon 2010 plays host to more than 60 specialty exhibitors. We’ve created on-trend interactive fan workshops, and gaming experiences, a SIFF-curated Zombie Film series, unique panels and discussions, and the premiere Halloween party ticket this year; The Zombie Prom.
