BuzzFeed’s Ten Things about the Nuclear Apocalypse
Here’s an interesting article hosted by the site, BuzzFeed that makes wonder why you might long for a zombie apocalypse, when you can can have a good old fashioned nuclear one. Besides providing warm cozy gusts of nuclear fallout, followed by the chill of a nuclear winter, you can be sure that a nuclear disasters would be a fun filled experience for the entire family. That is, if you consider fun living in either a submarine or underground shelter whereby the only un-irradiated food source might turn out to be your own family.
Just a note. One of the bullet points mention that Brooklyn hipsters would probably survive a nuclear blast in downtown Manhattan. While this is theatrically possible and hell, who knows, maybe the buildings would add a little bit of protection, I’m guessing that reality would be slightly different.
That said, If you want to see how you would fare if you got a bomb dropped on the nearest city, check out Megat0n’s nuclear blast calculator. It’s pretty informative in a “we are all doomed” kind of way.
