Zombies Plan to Protest, Eat Austrailian Game Board

Hungry ZombiesLooks like our friends in the Southern Hemisphere have had enough with their ratings board. For those of you not in the know, Australia has some of the most rigid video game classification rules. Games which wouldn’t raise an eyebrow in other countries tend to get the beatdown by the folks down under. These games won’t get rated and thus, they cannot be sold (according to my understanding of Aussie law). Some developers, like Valve, produce sanitized versions of their games, making a zombie apocalypse feel like a trip to the mall on Black Friday.

Well, Australian games are fed up with the rules and they have decided to channel their inner zombie and direct the horde at those stingy video game raters. From the article:

A group dressing as zombies to protest the lack of an R18+ video game classification in Australia will return to Sydney later this month.

The hoard, which last protested over the satte of games classification late last year, has the support of online video game activists and the Sydney Flash Mob which is rallying support through Facebook.

Zombies are set to gather in Sydney for a photoshoot tomorrow, ahead of the planned protest march beginning at Hyde Park Fountain on March 27.

Around 200 people took part in the first zombie protest march in Sydney last November.

If you are in the area, make sure to stumble on over there and let me know how it turns out.
