An Abandoned Japanese Amusement Park from Hell

An Abandoned Japanese Amusement Park from HellOn a lazy Saturday with a bright blue sky, Alex Hoban decided to spend his day crawling through the derelict remains of an abandoned Japanese theme park, and my oh my, are his pictures cool. There’s something fascinating about seeing our monuments and treasures in ruin that keep me coming back. I don’t know what it is. This feeling is double downed when theme parks come to mind.

Mind you, this isn’t a Zombieland theme park with fully functioning rides and perfectly running equipment. This is a wasteland where scavengers have picked at its bones and some fugitives are probably hiding in them. The photos are pretty creepy such as the rental area of rollerskating rink. There are pictures of an animatronic cat with its entire head hollowed out as well as other statues in seriously need of repair.

I gotta say, Alex is one brave dude to wander through that wasteland. After all, it’s not the abandoned park which is scary but the prospect of finding another person wandering through it as well.

WARNING: The follow link, although cool, may be considered NSFW. During his travels, the blog author discovered a stash of Japanese porn mags which he happily shows at the bottom of the page.

ALEX HOBAN MOVED BACK HOME, BUT ASIA’S STILL FULL OF GHOST TOWNS (viceland.com <- new window)
