A.D. — A Zombie Apocalypse in Style
Zombie news site ZombieInfo managed to scoop pretty much everyone the other day by posting an interview with the creators behind A.D. – a animated short about a zombie apocalypse. There’s a teaser trailer posted on the page, and from the opening depiction of a burning hellscape, you’ll be sucked into this new tale within about three seconds. The characters and zombies are both sleek, and stylized. This is an apocalypse with a pulse (and fire axe).
The producers behind this piece have some pretty high profile projects under their belt. Land of the Dead and 300 are some, but I think the most interesting tidbit is that the director behind this short is the same director who produced the animation for Tokyo Zombie. While I thought the movie sucked pretty hard, the animated short in the middle was the shining star in the entire production.
Alas, the interview is pretty scant on details such as release dates, running times, and any other talent involved. I wonder if they are shopping this teaser around to raise money for the production. In any case, I’ll keep you in the loop as I hear about this project.
