Babes of the Apocalypse

Babes of the ApocalypseThe apocalypse is a pretty nasty time to spend your weekends. If the apocalypse resulted from a nuclear exchange, you’d be spending your nights combing ash out of your glowing radiated hair while coughing up blood. If the apocalypse were of a zombie nature, you’d probably avoid the shower at all costs lest a corpse walk in on you. Still, in all cases of “the end is very f’n nigh”, there would still be some good looking folks wandering through the ashes of society. Dirty or not.

ZombieRegina has compiled a list of all the best babes in apocalyptic films in a blob post aptly titled, Apoca-Fox Now. It’s a pretty funny read that ranges the gauntlet from Tina Turner all the way to Milla Jovovich. I won’t tell who rated number one, but when you find out, you’ll be surprised but not surprised at all. I couldn’t think of anyone better. To give a hint, when the movie came out, every woman I knew immediately scheduled an appointment with their personal trainer.

Was there anyone missing from the list? I think Barbara from the original Night of the Living Dead deserves an honorable mention. I also think GLaDOS from the game Portal deserves a shout-out although there isn’t really an apocalypse and you never even see her, but man, she had me hook line and sinker in a “I’m going to watch you die slowly and enjoy it” kind of way.

This is a fun read. Give it a look over. You can also find ZombieRegina on Twitter right over here.

  1. Thanks for the link love. I did debate including Barbara but in the end she lacked a certain badass je ne sais quois. You know who could be a contender for a second list is the Barbara from the Tom Savini “Night” remake (1990) — she not only survives but gets all commando’d out in the end. Plus Patricia Tallman has serious sci-fi/horror cred, and that counts for something.
