Weapon Madness – Round One – Ranged Weapon Contest: Semi Auto Shotgun vs Beanbag Gun
The pick axe had an overwhelming victory in that last matchup with only myself and Charlene dissenting from the rest of the site. I will say that while the cordless drill would make a pretty terrible weapon, I’ve worked with enough pick axes in the past to avoid them at all costs. I can’t tell you how many heads I’ve managed to snap off the handle, or my personal exhaustion after a long session. I also like the drill for getting in and out of places while using it to help build a barricade for any buildings.
This next matchup puts an auto shotgun versus a beanbag gun. Honestly, I’ve never used a beanbag gun nor have I thought about it, so I’m going to defer adding positives and negatives for it, and instead leave to the weapon experts on the site.
Semi Auto Shotgun
Pros: great kill potential, take off a head with a single blast, rapid fire
Cons: loud, could burn through ammo, kick back could be painful
Beanbag Gun
Pros: ???
Cons: ???
Just a reminder about the judging. These are Romero type zombies. They are slow and sluggish. Headshots or decapitations will kill them. Bites will lead to probable infection, then death. You should judge a weapon based on its effectiveness against one zombie to an entire horde. A weapon does not need to be lethal to be effective. If it buys you some time to escape, then it should be looked on with favor.
So which do you think will make for a better zombie killing weapon?

Seriously? Shotgun!!!
Not even a question. Shotgun on single shot. For super awesomeness, get the Abomination shotgun (and super zombie cred to whomever knows what the Abomination shotgun is).
shotgun, I really doubt a beanbag gun would deliver a killing blow
