Ay Up Me Duck of the Dead
In the same vein of 28 Days Later, two people wake up to a world gone to zombies so they do their best to make their way through the post-apocalyptic nightmare. This is the premise behind the upcoming short fim, Ay Up Me Duck of the Dead.
My only complaint and it’s a petty one at that, is that I don’t I understand the title of this movie. I’m guessing this is a British saying twisted into a pun on Romero’s famous classic, but I’m just reaching into the wind. If someone could illuminate, I’d sure appreciate it.
That stated, the film looks interesting. I love seeing wide open spaces of cities completely devoid of people. It never gets old even though this apocalypse looks a little too tidy. Still, it looks pretty cool and I’m looking forward to checking this out at the time of release. Here’s a formal description of the film:
Waking up in the street after a heavy night on the town, Johnny makes his way to work, unaware that he is alone in the city. Barbara waits for a bus that never appears, deciding to walk to work through deserted streets and dark alleyways. SA chance meeting between the two survivors is just the beginning of their worst nightmares.
As always, more info as I have it.

“Ay up me duck” is a greeting, the same as “hello”, used in the East Midlands in the UK. As the film is shot in Nottingham, in the East Midlands, we thought it made sense to add a bit of local slang to the title.
