Zombie Dice

Zombie DicePhillip Reed, the owner of the toy review site battlegrip.com and the reviewer behind yesterday’s very neat Zombie Christmas comic book, replied to the blog post, mentioning another project in the works. Evidently Phillip is an employee of Steven Jackson Games which produced the classic role-playing game GURPS as well as the amazing Autoduel computer game (the the precursor to the Twisted Metal series).

The game in the works is called Zombie Dice whereby players take on the role of zombies with the object of eating the most brains. Each player takes turns rolling special colored dice. If you roll a brain, you get to eat it. Roll some footsteps, and that victim “gets away”, but you can re-roll the die later, if you choose. Roll three shotgun blasts, and your turn ends as do your accumulated brains. To win, you must reach the predetermined number of brains, thus earning you the title of Uber Zombie.

Although this appears simple on the surface, the game provides some great player choices. The longer a turn, the greater the risk, but also, the greater the reward. This sounds like a real fun travel game or drinking game. Maybe even both! The company is taking pre-orders now for thirteen bucks. The product is looking to hit the shelves in March. As always, I’ll relay more information as I have it.
