Interview with Left 4 Dead’s Writer, Chet Faliszek

Chet FaliszekMany thanks to Ben for sending this link over the intertubes. In this short clip, British Gaming gives Chet Faliszek a break from his busy Left 4 Dead 2 promotion schedule by letting him promote the game (tongue-in-cheek … now). Chet talks about the various game play changes from the way the characters interact with each other to the way some of the routes through maps change based on player’s performance. One thing he did mention was that there are now seven thousand lines of spoken dialogue in the game with most of the lines being reserved for “reloading”. He doesn’t mention that the other half is for “grabbing pills”. He also discusses zombie flicks as well as some of his favorites from the genre. He does lose some points calling the original Dawn of the Dead “a little campy … a little cheesy” while going on to praise the remake (and granted, the opening of the remake was great). But no one makes fun of the original Dawn of the Dead on my watch and lives to tell the tale. Get the pitchforks! Grab the torches! Let’s head to Valve headquarters and show them a real zombie apocalypse! :)
