Week in Zombies: Film, Books, Games … Oh My!
A lot of flesh eating news happened this past week. Movies, books, videogames … nothing was left untouched by our favorite unstoppable horde of brain eaters. Here’s a recap of this past week’s events.
* Zombieland
Good reviews made this puppy the top grossing movie of the week. I reviewed on Friday, producing a few fireworks in the process. There was some post Zombieland discussion over here. Don’t read if you haven’t seen the movie.
* October Giveaway
With “The New Zed Order: SURVIVE” being released, Todd Sprague is graciously giving away a free signed copy of his book. You can read about the contest over here, but if you’d rather pick it up yourself, you can get a copy from Amazon over here.
* George Romero
George Romero has finally decided to spill the beans on his zombies. Come July of 2010, he will be publishing a book the depicts the cause of this zombie plague as well as details what zombies can or can’t do. A little hint … you can forget about rule number one (see Zombieland for reference).
* Left 4 Dead: Crash Course
At long last, Valve produced another campaign for the popular videogame, Left 4 Dead. I reviewed it over here.
*Dawn of the Dead and Zombie Bites
Finally we had a pretty big discussion over the merits of the Dawn of the Dead remake. There also a discussion whether zombie bites were cliche or genre staples.
All good stuff and a ton more that hasn’t been mentioned. Once again, if you have news for any zombie related events or just want to say hello, feel free to contact me at any time.
Cheers!
